Mankiewicz Coatings Polycarbonate System ALEXIT BC3

Mankiewicz Coatings Polycarbonate System
It's About Time! Mankiewicz Coatings Alexit BC3 Polycarbonate Base Coat Clear Coat system Specifically Designed For The Aviation Coatings Market
ALEXIT BC3:
An Exterior Aviation Coatings System Which Saves Time And Money.

The ALEXIT BC3 System makes the standard primer and single stage topcoat system obsolete. Never have colors been so quick and easy to apply. Never have colors looked so bright. And Never have colors looked so good for so long.

The ALEXIT BC3 System can offer a 50% savings in application time and weight.

How the System Works:

POLYCARBONATE PU CLEAR COAT -
This highly durable, high gloss clear coat is designed as a long lasting clear coat. Excellent stain resistance. It wets out well at low thickness, yet hangs well at higher thicknesses. It is also buffable so repairs are easy.

POLYCARBONATE PU BASE COAT -
This base coat can achieve full hide in one box coat and below 2 mils dry film thickness for ALL COLORS. Consequently, less paint is used and there is less weight on the aircraft. Furthermore, the 2 hour dry to tape and applicability in one coat per color offers time and cost savings during application. The high pigment loading also offers brightness in color not achieved in a single phase topcoat. This base coat also contains corrosion inhibitors, so it can be used directly on conversion coating.

POLYCARBONATE PU PRIMER -
This primer is based on the same polycarbonate resin technology as the base coat. It offers easier application with better flow over substrates than standard epoxy systems. It also has fast dry times with a long pot life which can be adjusted with different thinners. The flexibility insures longevity over flexible substrates.

Mankiewicz introduces new coatings to marine industry

Mankiewicz introduces new coatings to marine industry

Mankiewicz Coatings, the world's leading supplier of specialized coatings to the automobile and aviation industries, is introducing its innovative ALEXIT® product line to the marine industry. Boat builders, interior designers and re-fit yards will be able to offer their customers exciting new colors and textures that are uniquely attractive and designed to withstand heavy wear and exposure to sunlight. Mankiewicz will work closely with builders and designers to create custom colors and provide technical support and application know-how.

One of the first boat builders that will begin using ALEXIT® coatings is Pearson Yachts in Warren, RI. "Now that we know these coatings are available, we're designing some of our newest product, such as our True North 46, around them," comments Mark Pearson. "We've been looking for better ways to reduce glare at the helm area, and ALEXIT® offers an excellent solution. Our interior design group is also excited about the soft coats that look and feel like leather. We'll be able to create a luxurious, highly durable finish with these modern coatings."

These coatings are extremely resistant to harmful UV radiation, maintaining their deep color and soft touch for years. ALEXIT® is also highly mar resistant and will hold up to the hard use that most boat interiors must endure. The soft coats incorporate unique "self-healing" properties, which automatically eliminate or reduce scratches over time. ALEXIT® coatings are also repairable, so if a small section is damaged, it can be re-coated and blended in with the original.

Complex curves and shapes can now be beautifully finished with leather or suede-like coatings in virtually any color, and the resulting surface will be UV and mar resistant. Spray application is much easier and more precise than trying to cover curved surfaces with fabrics or textiles.

Mankiewicz's entrance into the U.S. marine market is being spearheaded by industry veteran, Christian von der Heyde, formerly the president of U.S. Paint, manufacturer of AWLGRIP®. "This advanced technology is going to give boat builders new ways to distinguish themselves by creating uniquely attractive interiors," comments von der Heyde. "Mankiewicz has been doing this successfully for BMW and Airbus, among others, and we're ready to bring this innovative approach to the marine industry. Already, a number of leading European yacht builders are using our products and experiencing great success."

Mankiewicz has a warehouse and distribution center in Simpsonville, South Carolina for JIT deliveries to its distributors nationwide. All products, including primers, are manufactured under controlled processes in the company's modern facility located in Hamburg, Germany.

Alexseal Yacht Coatings

Advantages of Alexseal
Time Management
Time. It's our most valuable possession because it's the one thing in life you can't buy more of. The engineers behind the revolutionary ALEXSEAL marine coating system help you maximize your time by providing premium paint products that are easy to apply, easy to maintain, and easy to forget about while you enjoy carefree days on the water, time and time again.

Throughout the ALEXSEAL product line, you'll find an emphasis on ease of use:

Ease of Application Protective primers seal and protect the surface, and are easy to apply using either a sprayer or roller.
Fairing compounds are lightweight, mix easily, and sand to a smooth surface quickly.
Surfacers are designed to be applied in high film thickness, providing an ideal sanding surface to achieve a yacht finish.
Finishing primers feature a semi-gloss surface that sands easily and can be applied below the waterline.

ALEXSEAL Yacht Coatings supplies a complete system of epoxy primers, high build surfacers and fairing compounds as well as a linear polyester polyurethane topcoat designed for the marine environment. Whether a yacht requires full fairing or just priming and topcoating, the ALEXSEAL system has the best products for the job.

No Time to Lose
The advanced formula used for the ALEXSEAL topcoat is based on a polyester urethane with aliphatic resins added to provide many properties of an acrylic finish. The result is a coating that is easy to repair, with the durability and hardness of a linear polyester urethane. In addition to forging one of the most significant yacht finish advancements of the past 30 years, ALEXSEAL's aliphatic topcoat outperforms the competition in the areas that matter most to the consumer -- gloss and color retention.

Durability of FinishALEXSEAL's Premium Topcoat 501 is formulated with the best performing materials available on the market. Top-quality pigments provide better hiding power to reduce the number of coats required for full coverage. Premium UV resistors offer unmatched color retention, as proven in a Delta E test that examined how Alexseal paints changed over time versus the top competitors. A second test measured loss of gloss over time. In each case, ALEXSEAL was the top performer.

The bottom line is that with the ALEXSEAL marine coating system, you can spend more time enjoying your boat than caring for it. Isn't it about time for that?

Quality Time
ALEXSEAL combines the highest quality pigments',solvents, resins, ultraviolet resistors and agents with the most advanced aliphatic topcoats available on the market today. With the ALEXSEAL system, the final surface represents the industry's best combination of appearance and durability.

Throughout the ALEXSEAL product line, you'll find an emphasis on advanced technology:

Gloss Retention Protective primers prevent corrosion on aluminum & steel and provide a sealed substrate that is ready to be faired to perfection.
Solvent-free fairing compounds offer superior holding properties, minimize trapped air pockets, and quickly sand to a smooth surface.
Epoxy surfacers are engineered for maximum buildup and provide an ideal sanding surface for a yacht-quality finish.
Finishing primers provide an optimum base for the final topcoat, which is formulated with the best performing materials available on the market.
Top-quality pigments provide better hiding power to reduce the number of coats required for full coverage, while premium UV resistors offer unmatched gloss and color retention.

ALEXSEAL plans to continue raising the "innovation" bar through future worldwide launches of luxurious textured interior coatings as well as innovations in fairing products and anti-corrosive primers. In it's laboratories in both Germany and the United States, Alexseal's philosophy promotes continued innovation and incorporation of the most recent coatings research into new and improved products for the marine market.

Time for a Big Finish
You have the ideal yacht, now you are ready for a big finish. ALEXSEAL topcoat utilizes the newest polyurethane chemistry to achieve a long lasting Distinction of Image finish with mirror-like gloss. ALEXSEAL's superior quality and efficiency standards are reflected in their topcoat's Distinction of Image (DOI), the brightness and sharpness of the reflected image or object, influenced by the painted surface. ALEXSEAL not only outshines all of its competitors, it is formulated to be repaired in case the unexpected scratch may occur.

An ALEXSEAL high-gloss, impact-resistant surface transmits tremendous depth of color and rich detail. Yet it also stands up beautifully to heat, chemicals and scratches - so yachts may better survive dings and nicks, as well as caustic oil, fuel and detergents.

An ALEXSEAL finish not only offers a surface of superior quality, it's downright dazzling!
